• Splash and water resistant: These phones are finally water resistant (IP67), which means the hardware can withstand immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes like some Samsung and Sony devices.

• No headphone jack: These no longer feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple's new EarPods headphones will connect through the Lightning connector port.

• New camera: Some key features.

iPhone 7: 12MP camera, Optical image stabilization, 7MP FaceTime HD camera, Quad-LED True Tone flash, ƒ/1.8 aperture, 4k video.

iPhone 7 Plus: 2x 12MP camera (Wide-angle and telephoto cameras), Optical zoom at 2x, Optical zoom at 2x.

• Battery life: Apple claims longest battery life ever in an iPhone. Around 12 hours of LTE browsing (the iPhone 7 Plus should clock about two more hours).

• Display: Some key features.

iPhone 7: 4.7" Retina HD display with wide color gamut, 3D Touch, 1334 x 750 resolution.

iPhone 7 Plus: 5.5" Retina HD display with color gamut, 3D Touch, 1920 x 1080 resolution.

• Processor: A10 Fusion chip (64 bit quad core processor) which is 2x faster than iPhone 6.

• Audio: New stereo speaker system, 2x louder than iPhone 6, Earpods with lightening connector and introduction of Airpods.

• Wi-Fi and Cellular: 450 Mbps speed of data download (3x faster LTE than iPhone 6), upto 25 bands and answer 3rd party calls.

• Software: iOS 10.

• Storage: 32GB, 128GB, 256GB variants.  

• Colors: Glossy jet black, matte black, gold, silver, rose gold (Jet black is only available in 128GB and 256GB variants)

• Sales: Pre-order on September 9th. Sales starts on September 16th.
